    Hi

Can any forum member point me to info on the storage of recorders. I have a number of wooden recorders which don’t really get played very often (hoping to rectify that next year!) Currently they are stored mainly in EMS fleecde lined cases in my music room (which is an insulated & partitioned off section of the garage). This room is only heated to a low level to prevent damp, and would be prohibitively expensive to keep at a higher temperture – heat is turned up when I use the room. I had cause to bring one of my recorders indoors last week, and when I played it, it felt very cold. Don’t want to risk any damage! The main house is heated to around 19 deg.C 24/7 during the winter when we’re here (I have health issues), but the heat is turned well down when we go away.

    Thanks

    Tony

I think the main problem with recorder storage is that you don’t want the instruments to dry out because that would make them crack. It doesn’t sound like you have that problem.
