For those used with online forums, this one will be familiar. For newer users, driving instructions are below
Changing your forum name: After you join, the forum posts will show your actual name. This will suit some, others will prefer something different. To change your display name, for example to "Boston Player", do the following
- click on "My Account" under profile summary
- click on "Edit" (next to "View" on the second line)
- Enter your new forum name in the "Name (required)" field
- Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page
Once you have selected a name, be sure to stick with it.
Changing your password
This is easily done. Once you have logged in to the forum, you will see "My Profile Summary" in the right hand column. Click the "Edit my profile" link.
In the middle of the page which then comes up there is a box where you enter your current password. Then, at the bottom of the page you enter your new password. The new password is entered twice, to catch typing errors.
Finally click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.
Changing your forum photo: each new member gets a default profile image. To change this image, you need to set up a "Gravatar" account, then upload an image to it. Click here and follow the instructions to set up your Gravatar account.
Sending Personal Messages: To send a personal message to another forum member, click on their profile image, then click on the Personal Message button. As a general rule, do not send a personal message unless the recipient already knows you through the forum.
Stop emails about Personal Messages: An email is to you whenever a personal message arrives. These emails are useful alerts if personal messages are infrequent. However, if you would prefer not to receive these emails, then do the following:
- Click on "My Account" under "My Profile Summary"
- Click on "Settings" at the end of the first line
- Click on "Email" in the second line
- Click the "No" button
- Click "Save Settin
