Hello lovely people. I wonder if I can ask your advice please?
My fantastic husband has bought me a Moeck Rottenburgh Soprano, in Olivewood for Christmas, which is arriving today.
I am not supposed to look at it until the big day! What I would like to know is, we will be visiting our son in our Motorhome (RV), over the festivities, for a couple of weeks. Is it a bad idea to take it with us, due to the fluctuating temperature and humidity? Is it a better idea to leave it at home and start playing it in when we return? It is my first wooden recorder, and I want to do the best I can to look after it.
Thank you so much in advance for your advice.

Unless your son’s home experiences temperatures below 10 or above 35 deg. (C), I wouldn’t be too concerned. Same thing goes for humidity — it it’s mostly comfortable for humans, then wooden flutes will also be comfortable.

But practicing soprano while visiting family? Perhaps when everyone is out for a walk.

Thank you so much for your reply Kevin.

It depends on how mean I am feeling during Christmas!
