I just acquired a 1971 Moeck soprano recorder and I’m trying to find out what wood the recorder is made of. The recorder requires very little air on the lower notes, something I will have to get used to. The recorder is very close to being new. Any help will be appreciated.

You might go to the Moeck website moeck.com. Select your language of choice from the drop down menu. Then I suggest that you pull down the recorders menu and select Rottenburgh under Professionals. Scroll down and try to match the wood of your recorder with the pictures. Understand that each different wood can vary to some degree in its appearance. I hope that this helps. –Dick–

Thank you for the suggestion. I went to the site and I think I’ll be able to figure it out.

Is there a photo of it?

You don't stop playing when you get old. You get old when you stop playing.
